Eurostopodus

As reported in Sibley & Ahlquist (1990), Sibley et al. in their DNA-DNA
hybridisation studies found Eurostopodus to be somewhat separated from all
other Caprimulgidae, and so put them in a new family, Eurostopodidae.
This family has generally been conspicuous by its absence from later
summaries of extant bird families, and I assume from this that the
distinctness of Eurostopodus has not been widely supported. Does anyone know
of any studies that have actually addressed the validity of Eurostopodidae
or not, or has this result just been dismissed?

    Cheers,
