Would people prefer to see "Eurypygiformes" or "Rhynochetiformes" for
the sunbittern-kagu clade :-)?

Personally I'd prefer not to have another -formes name! As it is its intention, this suffix makes names look like they were somehow comparable... which they aren't.

I have a suspicion that the name
"Mesitornithiformes" may already be available for the mesites.

Fain & Houde say each of the "families" that have ended up in Metaves have occasionally been put into orders of their own, so this sounds like Mesitornithiformes indeed exists as a name.
