chicken wing-claws

It's called the bastard wing. All birds today have them. (I'm not sure
about penquins.)

David,
Caught a few young chickens this weekend, about 3 weeks old, confirmed
beyond
doubt: curved claws on a somewhat stiff facsimile of a finger.

I'm pointing this out because in most illustrations that relation isn't
depicted (so far as I can examine).
