Wow!

Despite being injured and crippled, the hadrosaur survived being chomped on 
by a tyrannosaur.  That's one lucky sonofa.  Dr Carpenter writes: 
"Therefore, it is all the more remarkable that this individual escaped. How? 
- luck, I suppose."

I can offer one possible answer:  The hadrosaur was taking a nap at the 
time.  Given the fact that _Tyrannosaurus rex_ was an obligate scavenger, 
the hungry tyranosaur snuck over and began munching on the prostrate 
hadrosaur.  When he realized that the hadrosaur was alive (!), the 
tyrannosaur squealed in surprise, and ran away in fright.
