Yeah, it is often true. There may be several factors going on here. First, bone 
is not solid, but has many voids that can act like tiny capillaries thereby 
drawing the saliva away from the tongue. The drying activity causes the tongue 
to stick. Some hydroscopic minerals can also do that also, especially certain 
clay minerals.

Has anyone heard that certain types of fossil bone stick to one's tongue? If 
so, what is the mineral that would produce this phenomenon? talc?
