Not dino but intriguing

Hello list,
sorry if this is off-topic, but I just saw the news on TV and they said that a 
"rotting gelatinous mass of 13 tons(!)" had been found along a coast in Chile. 
Some people think it could be a giant octopus the kind of which "attack the 
boats in the bermuda sea" (this last one makes me smile, Chile is quite far 
from that zone and the stories have, erm, yet to be proved :). On a more 
serious matter, I saw the pictures and it looks bizarre, and it's huge.
Has anyone heard of it, yet? (replies offlist, please)
