  It's called Character Map, though this is a Windows thing. Not sure how

  I specifically didn't write ä because I didn't feel like it. For me,
it's a simple matter of four keystrokes, alt + 1 3 2, in sequence, while
continuing to depress alt.

  moving from alt + 129, which is "ü", characters go to 165, "Ñ," where
"ñ" is 164. Some foreign currency symbols are in there too, 155-160.
