I'd considered that, but I would have expected a more obviously powerful jaw
if *Tapejara* (and the similar *Tupuxuara*) ate hard-shelled mollusc. Having
said that, it seems more likely than a piscivorous or insectivorous diet.
However, the apparent lack of physical adaptation to a specific lifestyle
might mean nothing at all: many contemporary birds do perfectly well with
their "bland" bills & I see no reason why *Tapejara* couldn't have had a
varied diet that didn't require any particular specialisation.
