Archaeoraptor liaoningensis

Hello,
I have been subscribed to this list for some time and enjoy reading the
lively and tedious debating that goes on. I am not a profession
scientist, actually I teach elementary school. I do have something to
inquire about.

I am very interested in your opinions of the archaeoraptor
liaoningensis. I know this fossil in in Blanding, Ut. right now and is
going to be presented or talked about in a bird symposium in Flordia in
a few weeks.

As I understand it the owners of the fossil knows that one of the legs
was made from the counterslab of the other and that the tail section is
in question. Even so this seem to be a significant fossil because of
the flight feather evidence and the mouth of the animal.

Does anyone on this list know enough about this fossil to venture their
opinion.

Thanks, Susan Esplin
