But in nature, it also happens that the obvious cause is in fact the true 
cause. This is not a mystery novel contrived by an author to mislead his 
readers so as to prepare a surprise ending. Put together an alternative 
hypothesis that has >more< supporting evidence than the asteroid-impact 
hypothesis, and we'll all be converted to your new insight. Nobody has done 
this yet; asteroid-impact is by far the most strongly supported hypothesis 
about the K-T mass extinction yet presented.
