[Listproc has just been upgraded on USC.edu.  The new version appears
 to be fully MIME compliant, and it's changed the way that messages
 look when I get them for approval.  If there's any strangeness
 inserted in this message, it's because I don't know if I should edit
 it out ahead of time.  I'm assuming for the moment that listproc will
 extract the weirdness prior to distribution, but if I'm wrong... --

Here's one for the aerodynamic experts - I have often wondered if the change
in outline that contour feathers give to a bird's body might in some way act
to reduce drag or wind eddies around its body and thus make it more
aerodynamically efficient.  Certainly they produce a marked change in the
shape of a bird's body, particularly around its neck.  I have no idea if
this is really so, though.
