Carnosauria

Re: Tom Holtz's comment on "Spinosaurus B":
Is *THAT* what that meant? I wish it had been a little clearer.
Add another clarification to the list:
        Spinosaurus B: Is Charcharodontosaurus. Argh!

On the Carnosauria:
Here then is my latest run at the Carnosauria and related taxa,
incorporating data from Sereno et al. (note to Tom Holtz, I am not sure
about modern latin conventions, but et alia means "and the rest" and et
omia means "and everone/everything", which I believe is bad grammar, but a
good joke if intended as such.).
        From Wagner's Cladogram 2.05 (not yet on web, 60 taxa, 213 (!)
chars):

NOTES: I don't trust this cladogram much, as it chops up the Ceratosauria
into discrete clades, and it didn't do this before Sereno's data was added.
I am wary of the placement of Poikilopleuron, Megalosaurus,
Piatnitzkysaurus, Afrovenator, and Eustreptospondylus. I dislike the use
of OTUs, mostly from a data-management and detail level standpoint. Many
of the characters which unite the Spinosauroidea and Torvosauridae are from
Sereno, and represent the pasting of his entire data from these OTUs onto
the taxa. This likes me not, but it is god data, and should be
incorporated.

Szechuanosaurus is the specimen (Shangshaximiaoan?) used in _The
Dinosauria_.

It should be noted that many of the fine details of the pelvis are
scattered around this cladogram, especially obdurator process details,
leading me to believe that this feature was highly variable and
non-diagnostic (lobulate obdurator *could* become extremely important if
it's presence could be proven for the other charcharodontosaurs. Boy am I
tired of typing that name!).

Note that if this analysis is consistant, it excludes
Charcharodontosauridae from the Allosauroidea (= Sinraptoridae+ALlosauridae
and included nodes).

Taxa incertae sedis:

Unnamed allosaur from the Isle of Wight
Unnamed robust allosaur (femur is at the MCZ)
Kaijiangosaurus (presumably close to Gasosaurus)
Epanterias atrox
And about fifty chinese taxa

Taxa referred but doubtful:

Bahariasaurus?
Chilantaisaurus
Marshosaurus
Another fifty chinese taxa

Taxa I have never heard of (anyone... anyone?):

Unnamed Morrison allosaur ("headless wonder")
Saurophaganax
"new stuff from [England and] France" (my brackets)
