Actually, this doesn't really change much.

The main weakness in his thesis is now what it always was - it does
not really address the issue of the origin of life, it just pushes
it back.

Now, given that Hoyle rejects the Big Bang, and supports a "stready
state" universe, he can legitimately suggest *no* first origin -
that is both the Universe and life are infinite in time.
