successful lineages
if we are looking for lineages with relatively slow change (or none)
over long periods, what we are really looking at is lineages who are so
successful, they grabbed their niche and held on fast through thick and thin.

for some of these, however, they lost their original nickes but apparently
managed to survive in a nother one equally well. several other examples of
thatare apparently bryozoans, graptolites,
