Not all groups were showing a drop in numbers, but it has already been
mentioned that the smaller dinosaurs were mostly extinct by the Late
Cretaceous (ie: Hypsephalodonts, compsygnathus, etc),species that seem to
have been strongly represented in earlier time periods. I am curious as to
what exactly was replacing them, mammals or something else.....
This of course does not actually prove anything about the disappearance of
dinosaurs as a whole, but it does show distinct changes showing up over time.
