Dragon/Flood

The discovery of fossils by ancient man may account also for the Akkadian 
legend of the flood and its rapid spread throughout the ancient world. 
Although local flooding might account for some aspects of the flood story 
it may have been impacted by the discovery of marine fossils upon various 
mountains. These myths were retold by various cultures and ended up in 
the Bible in the story of Noah.

Sorry this isn't related to dinosaurs but it does follow along the idea 
on how fossils impacted various beliefs! :)
