If you were comparing the entire genome of each animal, that would
probably be true. That's essentially the way that this figure was
obtained:

However, in the case of the reputed _T. rex_ sequence, we're dealing
with fragments. With short sequences, you'd expect that for some
strands you'll find an exact match, but for others you may not even be
able to identify the homologous genes.
I think we should all calm down and wait for more details before a)
ripping the work to shreds or b) stomping on the accelerator pedals of
our JP jeeps...
