Loch Ness

I've always thought that very large sturgeon are a good candidate for
being the "monsters" that have been reported in bodies of water such as
Loch Ness or Lake Okanogan. I know of one documented case of a sturgeon
being caught in the Fraser River in Canada which was over 10 feet long
and weighed over 800 pounds.

Sturgeon live a long time and have the propensity to get very large.
The rows of bony scutes along the body also give it a unique monster-like
look, much different from the typical modern(teleost) fish.
