archy
I just attended a workshop on Archaeopteryx and the origin of birds put on by
the Yale Ornithological Society. The main speaker was Dr. Ostrom and he
discussed the latest findings of archy #7.
1.) found in 1992
2.) first archy with evidence of interdental plates as seen with SEM pictures,
similar plates are also seen in theropods
3.) first time an ossified sternum can be seen
4.) skeleton is almost in a natural articulation and nearly complete except for
the preorbital portion if the skull with the upper jaw
